AngelsAndJinns, the avatar was the design for Iraq's new flag. I don't think it stuck, though. Too Jewish. Har har har!

Men are to be the leaders whether that is in the home or anywhere else. That in know way implies that women are inferior to men. The husbands are to make the decisions for a family upon consultation and advice from others and most importantly from his wife--his helpmate. Men and women, husband and wife are a team. One person has to take the lead and that is the man's "role." Why? Because that is what men are good at. That is one of the God made qualities of a real man. That is what God said men are to do...lead. Of course women have different "roles." Roles that men can't do as well. That is why we are complements of each other. This doesn't have anything to do with women being inferior as obviously they are not.

The problem in today's world is weak men, not weak women.

Of course it does. Just read the Old Testament. The Jewish religion is basically a glorified boys club.

The new testament really does not, but the old testament generally does, but see the books of Judith, Esther, and Ruth for exceptions to that rule....you'll need a Catholic bible because interestingly enough the protestants took out ALL of that stuff- you can blame Calvin et al for that.

on the exterior language yes...but the real meaning no....

*ahem*....in the old testament when adam and eve broke the God's commandment...God put consequences to their sin..which was pride...the consequences were pain in living each day for man, and pain in giving birth for women. but in women God has put a special gift...the gift of suffering...this allows women to be closer to God...

what this means is that...yes....women at that point are inferior to men..since God said women will obey men...but there is a GIANT catch....in the New Testament, in the Gospel..you will read a saying.."the last will be first and the first will be last" what this is saying is that women being "inferior" are the "last ones" but only if they accept the suffering that awaits them [child birth, role as mother, or any life hurdle]. since they are closer to God, it'll make them stronger spiritually then men, but like i said before they must accept this suffering.

p.s. with men is the same....but men aren't as close to God spiritually...meaning God didn't give Adam this gift it gave Eve...but with men it's also true..the problem..men are born thick-headed.. aren't we???

In some instances it may seem that way, but only because in those days, that was the law of the land, that women couldn't speak in public places, etc .

let us make man in our own image, both male and female. he made them all but didnt make them so!i think in GOds eyes we are his pride and joy the only difference is that of responsibilty, he gave the orders to adam before the woman was and it was up to the man to inform and be responsible for the woman not to dominate her!
