Proactive is mentioned several times here as well as diet...take heart, there is a homeopathic (natural) solution that should help even if you can't afford all the expensive junk.
Here are some simple tips to try to help reduce and eliminate your acne. Remember it can take up to 4 weeks to see a difference.
1. Always drink plenty - 8 glasses minimum and more is better. Water helps the body flush it self better and more efficiently.
2. Apply white vinegar to the face, neck, and back. Let is sit for 5 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
3. Use lemon as an exfoliate treatment to remove dead skin cells that clog the pours. Apply the lemon to the infected areas. Let dry for 10 minutes then rinse off with cool water. You might feel a bit of a burning sensation when you apply it. If you cant take it then dilute the lemon a little bit.
4. Eat a well balanced diet that is high in fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid unhealthy foods such as greasy or fast foods whenever possible.
5. Take a good quality muli vitamin daily. As well add zinc supplements to your daily intake. Zinc has shown remarkable results in clearing acne.
6. Use Grape seed extract or Echinacea to help boost your immune system to better fight acne causing bacteria.
7. Use Dandelion or Burdock to detoxify your liver and kidneys.
8. Try a homeopathic remedy or an Ayurvedic treatment. Natural medicine is known to have tome remarkable results. Thats because they think outside the box. Rather than treating the symptom which in this case is the zit, they treat the whole you and look for the underlying cause.
Acne can be annoying at best and devastating at worst. There is no reason to have to live with acne these days, no matter how bad it is. There are many treatment options available and if over the counter isnt working then seek the assistance of your doctor or dermatologist. Dont suffer any longer!

Here is what I have found works best.
Get a prescription for benzaclin. It is a topical mix of a topical antibiotic and benzoyl peroxide. Use it in the morning and the night.
It is far better than benzoyl peroxide alone. Use a 2% salicylic acid wash as your cleanser and pat your face dry. If your face is very inflammed buy an ice pack and pat your face for five minutes before you apply the benzaclin. It cuts down the swelling and inflammation and allows the med to get in. You can continue to use the ice pack for another couple of minutes even after you have applied the benzaclin. For women, heavy makeup and foundation is not good. After working out get right in the shower. For back acne you should buy a long scrub brush and loyally use regular benzoyl peroxide wash day and night and then apply over the counter 10% bp lotion afterwards. This stuff can bleach your clothes.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

First understand what acne is and how you get it. It can be caused by clogged pores, pore eating habits, bacteria in pores, etc. The best way to improve skin is by:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Wash your face 2x daily with a non-abrasive, non-drying soap.
3. GENTLY clean with soft wash cloth. Scrubbing makes it worst.
4. Moisturize with the correct moisturizer for your skin type.
5. Keep your hands clean - people tend to touch face more often when they have acne. If your hands are dirty, it will make worst.
6. Use water-based cosmetics
7. Use some of the top OTC (over-the-counter) brands for example Neutrogena, Acnezine, Oxy-10. etc.
8. Try Proactive. I have friends who have used it ands it works!
9. If all fails, see a dermatologists.

After physical activity make sure to have a clean face, wash it a few times a day when needed, eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water, If it is a severe acne contact a skin specialist (let your pedeatrician or your doctor know and he/she will make arrangements with a dermatologist.) Otherwise, do what i tell you, it should work well. You could also buy some ointment from the pharmacy if it is very mild acne, otherwise, eat a healthy diet, lots of water, and remember to wash your face after hard activity that makes you perspire. Good luck, i hope you clear up soon, man.

Everyone says Proactive but the solution never worked for me. It's also very very expensive. I use a Wal-mart brand called AcneFree it's the same idea as Proactive but cheaper and works better.
If you can afford it, get a dermatologist and have microdermabraisions done. They're great.
Your face will never clear if you continuously touch it and pick at it. That was my biggest problem. You may not ever touch your face but that is the greatest way to get acne. The oils and germs on your hands are horrible for your complexion. If your parents had acne there's a great chance you will have it and there's nothing you can do but fight through it.

You should see a Dermatologist. I battled with acne for decades. I tried every possible off the shelf acne medication & face wash, none of which did a bit of good. Tetracycline was the acne drug of choice at that time, but it quickly stopped working for me. I wound up with a lot of acne scaring. Then a product came out called Acutane. This product saved me from a life of disfiguring cystic acne, the kind that is huge & makes your face swell. It has bad side effects and is expensive, but if you have bad *** acne that nothing works on you should see a Dermatologist about getting on this medication.
