By "better", I mean when do you go from being sore and achey and tired to feeling all peppy and energetic? I plan to go for 30 minutes 3-5 times a week.

It should take about a week.

As long as you're not so sore that it's discouraging you from going back, it should take about a week. It's great you're going 3-5 times a week but I've read that you should take no more than two days off. Returning to a routine after a couple days off can be strinuous on your muscles and give you the achey feeling again. When I started tae bo, it just took a couple days to get in the rhythm. Just be sure not to over-do it. Good luck!

You need to stick to your original plan. 30 minutes is not much of a workout but any workout will help. It may take a week or so to stop being sore but you should feel peepy and energetic immediately. It did for me. You'l ll find things more enjoyable. Stretching in the morning or cold showers after you workout. Good luck. And stick to your routine.

When i first started going to the gym it was about 45min to an hour 3-4 times a week. I really noticed positive changes once i was there 3 months. At that point you will feel good and it will become an easy part of your weekly routine.

You will feel "better" in about 3 to 5 weeks. But if you increase the time each time you go you will be feeling better in about 2 weeks.

i would do it after you work out, so the tanning lotion isn't getting icky on your skin. plus, i find tanning after working out helps relax me. as for how long etc.... depends on the beds. i'd cut the time in half for the first 1-2 tans. then, increase time based on your skin's reaction. for example: -if it's a 20 min bed, then go in for 10 min. then, if you didn't burn go in for 10-15 min the next day. if you didn't burn again, then go 15-20 min the next day. when i say no burn i mean no red whatsoever. if you get even a little red, then wait a day and let that calm down and go in again for the same time. if you aren't burning, then go everyday or every other day. be careful it's addicting!!! take care. p.s. don't forget to move around in there. you shouldn't need to flip, but lift your arms up for a few minutes to help get under your arms.

Well, after your first day of working out your body is tired and worn out. But, after about a few days (for me it took about 4 or 5 days.. but im in 8th grade and average size so i dont know what position your in) When my body got used to being worked and worked for a while, it wasnt a huge problem anymore. Just remember "The Three Day Hump" The first Three days are the worst, get through those and it's alll downhill form there!

Go 3 times a week, you do not want burn out. But to feel better, 2-3 weeks before your muscles, and body get used to something new.

Make sure you don't push yourself too fast and make sure your diet is responsible. Drink lots, eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies, avoid soda, fried food and cigarettes. Take good vitamins and eat plenty of protein. I also recommend DMG from the vitamin stores. Helps your body utilize oxygen better and prevents lactic acid build up that makes you sore.

3 days max or you're injured and you should discontinue use of the muscle until it's fully healed. Complete shredding of a muscle happens only on the most rigorous of workouts in which case I'd give it 7 to 10 days to heal.
