I have a neighbor who showers with her two year old son, is this okay? I take baths with my 9 month old son and I think that's okay, what do you think?

i think if you have been taking baths since he was a baby.. there is really no real answer to this question.. i read on this exact thing.. and the answer was.. if the parent is the opposite sex.. two is the latest.. if the parent is the same sex.. then there is no real age limit.. it depends on how open your family is about nudity.. i think 9 months is just fine!! with many months left!!.. i think bath time is bonding time for kids under two...when mine got over curious about my body.. it was time to have separate baths (or showers)..but my door is always open.. we are not shy

I still bath and shower with my 2 year old.. Heck my 3 month old is in there too...I don't have time in the day for seperate baths...people who think it is wrong probably have some sick hangups of there own...

as far as asking questions..of course they do it and it can be hilarious at times...I have my son on camera telling me I have a penis (he knows i don't) but he was trying to tease me..it was funny. My son is curious but that is a good thing...people are so crazy about the naked body....geeeess

I would say between 9 months and 1 year is old enough. I stoped taking a bath(would wear my swimmingsuit)with my 10 month old daughter when she was about 6 months old.

With all 3 of my boys I showered with them until they were about 2. That's when mine started to ask Q's. When they turned about 6-7, I stopped letting them shower together. Depends on the child I guess, but at 9 months-don't worry, it's fine.

Bathing is a daily routine that should be practiced for the rest of our life and you want the child to learn and be independent when it comes to things like this but 9months is ok cuz the child is still dependant.

Believe me, those kids will let you know. My brother & I bathed together until he was 3 (I was 5). He suddendly got very modest and wouldn't let anyone other than my dad see him without his underpants on. This from the kid that would strip off a diaper when the mood struck! He developed a very modest personality. More like my mom. My dad & I could care less.

Whatever works for you.

Notice how so many people are saying, "they'll ask questions!!" OH Heaven forbid they ask questions. Fact is, the more stigma you place on that region of life, the more naughty and tempting it will be to explore it later in life....but not nearly late enough!

I will bet that everyone saying less than a year is American. We'll have Europeans posting later tonight, and they'll all think this is one of the oddest questions on the net.

I bathed with mine until he was about 2 1/2. Probably too long, but whatever. I could give a rats *** what people think.

This takes me back to about 32 years. I had my youngest son in the shower with me and he was 2 years old. I did not have him in the shower with me as a regular thing....we were in a hurry and needed to leave the house so........son came in shower with me. He looked up at me and wondered if I was "broken". I did not have a pee pee like him. So........answer to your question...........I would not have child in shower with you once they started asking questions. Good Luck !!!
