Remember that owning a dog is not just about the initial purchase price. There are several other costs such as vet bills, food, spay/neuter, teeth cleaning, dog license and medication that you will have to pay for as well. If you cannot afford more than $150 annually what are you going to do if you have a really serious vet bill?

Get a stuffed animal. If you can't afford $150 to purchase then how are you going to afford vet costs and pet food? If you are serious about a fox terrier you might consider fox terrier rescue! These dogs are just as worthy of being loved and are very grateful. However, you will pay this in an adoption fee if not more.

If you cannot afford to pay for the dog, can you pay for the care that it requires? Vet bills are expensive, as is preventative care of fatal conditions such as heartworm, distemper, etc.
I would urge you to think long and hard before "buying" a dog. If after all of this consideration, you are still looking to get one, then go to a reputable breeder with references - not the "cheapest". remember, you get what you pay for and buying a dog because it is cheap could mean a lot of expenses further down the line.

Humane Society. Sometimes there are purebred animals that have been previously abused, or injured. Usually they wont have papers available, but If you are set on that specific type of dog, its worth a try. Otherwise, for companionship, there are MANY animals that need a loving caring home.

You pay for what you get. If you can't afford to buy a puppy then you need to look into how much it cost to take them to the vet and get vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Maybe a puppy isn't the best thing for you right now. If the puppy gets ill, its going to cost you a lot of money.

thats really cheap? why are you trying not to spend alot, dont you want to make sure they dog is of good standards? if you buy from a breeder they will definatly be more than that but then they will be purebred, you can check the parents history. if its because you dont have the money then dont get a dog they are lots of money from vet visits, food, shots, heartgaurd and flea/tick medicine it can be costly. and dont forget about accidents that do happen. if you have the money but just wnat to be cheap, check out rescue shelters, humane societies, petfinder.com local newspaper ads for people who didnt mean to breed but it just happened on accident and they just want to sell them.

like the other person said. you get what you pay for. if you want a cheap dog, how are you going to pay for all it's needs? how are you going to buy food, toys, grooming tools, water, etc, and how are you going to pay for its vet bills? dogs have to get shots too, you know. how are you going to take care of it? did you research the breed?
