I just got a pug that is 2 years old and have noticed she has some leackage. I am taking her to the vet Thursday but they suggested I might need to put her on a high fiber diet. DOes anyone know of a dog food that is high in fiber?

Try adding some cooked brown rice to her diet as well as some cooked carrots and maybe some shredded raw apple.

There are many foods for dogs that are high in fiber. Stay away from the "Natural" blends as they have fillers in them that the dog does not need. Look for Science Diet or Eukanuba or something along those lines. The vet will probably suggest one for you. Do consider one thing though. The breed of dog you have has that unique characteristic of anal leakage to some degree. I have a friend who told me that he found himself expressing the gland frequently in order to control the leakage. Again, the vet is your best resource here.

She probably has impacted anal glands that the doctor will express for her. Science Diet w/d is a high fiber diet. Also most diets with rice are good fiber diets, ask the doc ;) That's what they go to vet school for :)

It sounds like a problem with anal glands. Your vet will take care of this for you.

Umm, my cat was leaking yellowish stuff and we found out she had a HUGE infection in her uterus and had to have immediate surgery to get it out or she would have died!
She made it through just fine, but I wish I would have just had her spayed years ago, even though she is an indoor cat.
