These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

You can feel it in your heart, and you can believe it with all your being, leaving no room for personal doubt. You can go get baptized and have a reverend/preacher tell you that you are saved. So, it's really a matter of your own belief. Some people say that when you know something to be true you can feel it in your bones. As for myself, I don't believe it's required to be "saved" or forgiven by Jesus to have everlasting life.

One of the scriptural evidences that you are truly born again is that you possess a love for other Christians. One of these fruits of the indwelling Spirit is love. Those who are saved possess this fruit of the Spirit.“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2nd Corinthians 5:17). Another way you can know you are saved is that your life exhibits a change.A salvation experience always changes you! The presence of a changed life is evidence that you have become a “new creature” in Christ Jesus. It is this changed life that assures you that you are saved.Salvation results in your becoming a child of God. Of this relationship, John wrote, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God . . .” (1st John 3:1). God now will chasten you, as a son, when you do wrong. Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. 1 Peter 3:21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you --not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

The Abba of Jesus says that once a sin is been forgiven it will be cast into the sea of forgetfulness never to brought up and used against me ever again. There is no memory of it. It is like paying off the mortgage to a house and burning the mortgage paper.

Absolutely. If you have received Christ as your savior, accept the work on the cross and believe that He rose from the dead, you are saved.
Joh 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in, and will go out, and will find pasture.
Act 2:21 "And it shall be that everyone who shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Yes, you can know for sure. The Bible is the only book we can be sure it 100% true. It tells us that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. (Romans 10:9) Then just keep loving Him with all your heart.

What must I do to be saved?" was asked in Acts 16:30. Acts 16:31 gave the answer, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Romans 4:5 says,

Yes you know for sure.....when you truly repent with your whole heart and you truly accept Jesus with faith. Faith is something that can not be seen it is just known and as you acknowledge that Jesus has forgiven you and you are saved your faith grows with your relationship to God.

Of course you can know for sure! God does not want us to be guessing our whole life....
Have you repented of your sins?
Have you trusted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and accepted His free gift of eternal life through His death, burial and Resurrection?
Have you openly professed Him as your Lord and Saviour?
If yes to all, then you can trust in His Word, (and you should have experienced a change in your life to confirm this), that you are forgiven and saved for all of eternity!
