I think that our modern culture is becoming more open to 'aternatives'. Especially with a higher divorce rate in the United States (and the world most likely) young women are exploring other options for commitment and intimacy.

There are good guys out there. Usually it is the guys who are in the background more. Although after saying that, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of females become lesbian, I am not to impressed with my male counterparts all that often.
