I tend to use Vidalia onions. They're sweeter, which is nice, cause I'm not into spicy foods.

I don't. Although I love the taste of onion there is something about the texture or cook onions that gets me. I use onion powder instead.

Many areas of the country have their own "rules" for chili. We always put onions in ours in CA, but they have to be RED onions. In the midwest I used yellow onions. But to me, a chili without onions is just blah.

I always use finely chopped onions in my chili. I also like to sprinkle a little raw onion on top of the chili and diced fresh tomato, Don't forget the grated cheddar or monterey jack, pass the sour cream please.
