Either a swim cap like suggested or a hair net would work, or you can try to gel it back with some of the extra gooey stuff so that it won't move?

Yes, I believe there is a difference between the two. A wrestler is also a entertainer, but an entertainer is not a wrestler. A wrestler is someone who's trained purposely to wrestle. The wrestler's main aim is not to entertain as such, but it is just to wrestle to the best of their ability. Of course wrestling a good match does entertain people, but their sole purpose is not just to entertain. An entertainer on the other hand is trained to entertain regardless. It's really hard to explain but I think there is a difference between the two. Wrestling is entertaining for the fans to watch, but the wrestlers purpose is just to wrestle a good match. If people are or are not entertained by it, then so be it. If it was a good match, then the wrestler did his/her job. But the entertainer's main aim is to entertain and if they don't, then they've failed in their job. In WWE, they pretty much the same thing thanks to Vince McMahon. But in some minor indy promotions, they're not big with fan bases so they're not really an entertaiment purpose promotion, just there to wrestle good matches. Of course they do entertain people still, but there's a difference in the definitions. EDIT: POP also used a good way to explain it. There is a difference cause some people do the entertaining side of things like Miz, Rock etc. And some do the other side of things, i.e the wrestling side, so Jack Swagger, etc.

there are few things that are tight enough to stay on. a swim cap would be an obvious answer. i dont know if you could get a do-rag to stay on.

i used to do this, when i had long hair: find an old tshirt you dont care about cutting up. cut off a sleeve. pull the sleeve over your head, so it's around your neck. then, pull it upwards until it's above your eyes, only covering your forehead and hair. basically, you use the sleeve for a headband. usually, it's tight enough to stay on, but not TOO tight, and should be the right size to protect the hair from major pulls.

What about a bandana or like a scarf, like bikers wear?

I suppose a swimming cap might work. I don't think hair nets will fit the right image LOL for wrestling.

You can get one of the softsided headgears and have someone sew a hairnet (flexible piece of material) into it. This is the easiest way to do it. Also if you can braid your hair in a french braid or put it in multiple ponitails it you can pull it up in your headgrear and it will not be as likely to fall out. They all work, trust me, my sister and I both Wrestled for years and we both have waist leingth hair.

Try wearing a swimming cap, it's tight and snug
and rubbery and will not come off as quick as a cap or scarf.
