I went to the doctor yesterday as I was feeling really sick. The other day I had diarreaha and horrible stomach cramps that would come and go. He told me yesterday that I should fast for 24 hours and that would get rid of my stomach bug. I felt a little better today, and at the 24 hour mark I had some cereal. My stomach immediately felt worse than it did earlier today and then i got diarrhea again. The cramping is all throughout my stomach, lasts for about 10 seconds and makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. It is sometimes so bad I have to hold onto something. Is this really a bug? Should I fast again? I was just so hungry!!

I started eating again but the pain is still there and I have a fever/chills. I don't want to have to go the hospital. If this is food poisoning or a stomach bug, will it just go away on it's own?

If it continues or you get more symptoms such as a fever you should go to the hospital. It could be food poisoning or any number of things. Hope you'll be well soon.

Here in Jonesboro I woke up with a stuffy nose, scratchy throat and a headache. Daughter said her nose was stuffy and her stomach hurt but she hasn't called from kindergarten yet so we'll see.

Next time you feel like you can eat something and keep it down, try an egg or something besides cereal or toast - you may be reacting to the wheat or gluten, that's just how my daughter felt before we figured out what was wrong with her.

don't fast! make sure you drink lots of water. think bland when you start eating, like crackers, jello...etc.
you might have ibs (irritable bowel syndrome)

you need a new doctor, if that one is telling you to fast.

You might have a stomach virus. You just have to let it run it's course. Just keep hydrated.
