Well my husband is from a third world country in Asia. Why doesn't he stay there? Because the system is corrupt and the good law abiding citizens have no control due to the fact that their govt is oppressing everyone. He came here for freedom to pursue his own happiness. I am 100% American born and raised but I am also proud because I know that my husband is just as much an American as anyone of us because he suffered thru the immigration lines to get here and paid DEARLY for it. I was with him and the one who applied from his country and fought on his behalf to give us a better future together. It's the law of human kind that we should pursue our dreams. So to answer your question, I think that the Mexicans are in a sorry situation but at the same time they should follow the laws of any land that they live in. That means they should legalize themselves or be deported just like any other immigrant that hasn't followed up on their status here. Tough love...

Could it be that they are too lazy to do anything about their own country, and it's just easier to come here and get everything for free? I know they like to call us lazy, without considering what their actions say about them. And this is coming from someone who has spent time in a Mexican village. Nobody was going hungry, everybody worked, and they even had some nice extravagant parties while I was there. The desire to be rich is what brings many of them here. As for corrupt governments keeping their people down, they also know that we are being oppressed here and they take full advantage of it. Many of them will even tell you so right here on YA.

I don't mind if they want to live here, as long as they come here legally. What really bothers me are the ones that come here and live off hardworking, law-abiding, tax payers such as myself. Do you realize that an illegal immigrant can come to this country pregnant, with no money, and if she has her baby here we are forced to pay for her and the baby's healthcare and welfare because the baby was born on us soil. The other major problem is that we have to translate every thing for them because a lot of them are too lazy to learn the national language. Other immigrants come to this country and learn the laguage, why can't mexicans? It really bugs me when I call a number and it says English or Espanol?

because they are cowards, the US had to fight to get where we are at, this is my question all the time. they are either too lazy to take a stand or ashamed of mexico. they would rather live here for free off the system, have dozens of babies then whine boo-hoo when their caught.

Because they're not allowed to! The government and drug cartels run that country. It's for them, not the people. They like having their people live in poverty in order to keep them down and under control. 3rd world at its best...

In case you don't know, Mexico is a third-world country, and most Mexicans who skip over to the USA are people who don't have anything in their own country, so they might as well try in the US.

If you have sh!t to work with, no matter how hard you work you wind up with sh!t. I do not approve of illegal aliens, but I sure understand they don't have much hope down there. Dropping the birth rate would help tremendously.
