dust of the ground + breath of life = "soul"?
humans and animals don't HAVE "souls", they ARE "souls"? The "soul" in the bible comes from the hebrew word "nephesh" and the greek word "psuche" and they are physical beings that can die. Biblically, aren't we physical being running on "spirit fuel" (spirit/breath of life) that has been passed down to us from Adam?

maybe angels have physical bodies, but because they have borrowed immortality from God who is only immortal, they can change form and move in light speed without dying.

I would say the mind can't exist without the spirit and body combined.

You are right. Genesis said that God breath the breath of life into the dust and it became a living soul. So the formula is Soul = dust + breath of life ( or spirit). Take away that spirit and all that will remain is a dead soul. ( Ezekiel 18:4 ??)

Your question is extremely muddled and confused. For example: the phrase 'dust of the ground' can mean many different things - mud, clay, soil, sand, sediment, dirt, rock? etc in addition to having many metaphorical references. Which is it? The Bible doesn't define it any further leaving it open to wild speculation. The phrase 'breath of life' likewise can have many different actual physical meanings and metaphorical meanings. Which is it? To go on talking about these phrases and ask questions about them is a waste of time without first defining exactly what you are talking about. Without defining more specifically what you re talking about, you are simply stirring people's mental confusion and I mean that literally.

Interesting, but you assume many ideas as "facts" in formulating your hypotheses. You have not established the existence of angels, God, Adam, a human "soul", or immortality...

Good point. A child begins life when God breathes a soul into its body with its first breath.
