What can I do? HELP!?

I had my wisdom teeth extracted in May. Since then, I've been in terrible pain-shooting ear pain, to the point where I'm in tears. It feels like I'm in an airplane 24/7. I've been to an ENT and dentist, but to no avail. I'm a college student and this pain is affecting every aspect of my life. What is it and how can i TREAT it?

You need an ENT consult urgently. Starting from impacted ear wax, to ASOM/CSOM, it could be anything, and maybe a furuncle within the ear canal. Treatment is simple and you must not have continued suffering ever since May.

I just had 4 teeth out myself. My stitches just came out 2 days ago. When I had my teeth out I signed an agreement, a disclamier or waiver if you will, that said all the things that can happen from having your teeth out. Man, there is a TON of things that can go wrong. What you are telling me about is one of the things that were listed. Here's what you can do. As the others have stated, keep looking for a better dentist and find a better dr. SOmeone will be able to help you. After you have done that, talk to the dr and or dentist and see if they think that you might have had a botched procedure, IE. there could be a piece of tooth left, or there could be an infection. If it sounds like there was some wrong doing on the dr's part that took the tooth out, seek out a good lawyer.

Remember, even though you sign a disclaimer it isn't giving the dr the right to be careless or negligent. It is just something telling you that these things can happen. If you feel the dr did a botch job on you sue his ***! It's the American way! LOLOLOLOL

You don't mention whether you had them just pulled or if they had to cut them out.
You don't mention if you had all 4 of them removed at once of if you just had 2 of them removed.
Either way, there is muscle and bone trauma caused when wisdom teeth are extracted and the particular muscle that recieves that trauma does affect the ear area.
Try using heat packs to the sides of your face and use tylenol or ibuprofen to ease the muscle inflammation.
When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, there was enough trauma to my muscles that opening my mouth to eat I was sure I was truly injured as I could not open my mouth any further than to put a small spoon of food in my mouth.
I thought I would never be able to open my mouth large enough to eat a hamburger.
Another thought is,were any of your wisdom teeth infected?
If an infected tooth is pulled without prior antibiotic therapy you could have some spreaded infection and this could really cause problems.
Have you considered the possiblity of having a dry socket? I understand that these are terrible and cause great discomfort.
Ask your Dr if either of these options are a possibility because you really should be feeling fine by now.

I'm not a doc. but you may have bone slivers or maybe he damaged the nerves some how. i would see a different dentist and if you get no relief there than for sure see a nerve specialist. don't take no for an answer--- you have been in pain way too long. best of luck

well if the ENT couldn't find a reason, you may want to consult a neurologist then. Good Luck.

they need to do x-rays to make sure they didnt break your jaw. I have seen this many times. It even happened to my father. I would either go back and demand x-rays or go to the ER.
