There are microscopic parasitic worms and the like in or on most things - including our own bodies - just don't look at your eye lashes under a microscope!

I understand we all have worms or one sort of the other. Except me because mine have been killed off with chemicals which are probably as disgusting as the residue from a recycled paper plant!

Go to a herbal shop and ask them what you can take to kill these little blighters without killing yourself and without having to stop eating your raw meat and fish.

You'll probably get told it serves you right if you get worms by some answering vegetarian! Only joking!

Many fish contain parasites, which is why eating raw fish is not recommended.
Try some of the vegetarian sushi instead.

I guess it could if you ordered that way or if the restaurant is not purchasing the BEST types of sushi fish......
Sushi is NOT made up of ONLY raw fish like so many people think it is or are led to believe it is. MOST sushi is nothing but cold rice with vinegar that is shaped into bite sizes & topped with EITHER raw OR cooked fish or seafood. Or it is shaped into a roll with fish or seafood, egg or vegetables & wrapped in seaweed. My sister-in-law makes GREAT sushi. She learned when she & my brother lived in Japan when my brother was in the Air Force. She never uses raw fish, but she uses prepared scallops, crab, shrimp, cooked fish, raw veggies, etc. It's GREAT!!!!

Sashimi is NOTHING BUT RAW FISH & SEAFOOD cut into bite sized pieces & served with soy sauce or wasabi.....
I cannot bring myself to eat raw meat of any kind.....squid, octopus, oysters... NO THANKS!!! it's like swallowing a big old glob of phlem......

worms and larvae do live in fish HOWEVER, fish that is used for sushi is flash-frozen to kill off any parasitic worms.

the parasites are Anisakiasis a type of roundworm.
