I'm not quite sure you get the whole thing about HD. It is higher resolution to look good on *large* tvs. Standard def. (480i) looks just fine on small tvs. It's silly to pay for "HD" in a small tv.

The smallest LCD with a HDTV compatible tuner and resolution ( the minimum resolution required to qualify as a HDTV Compatible TV is 720p) and that is the Samsung 23" LCD, not the 26 Sony XBR as someone else had suggested. The 26" Sony may be the smallest that LCD TV that has can receive a 1080i resolution but it too is 720p native resolution, and again, HD requires only 720p which the smaller Samsung 23 inch model has. ( model #LN-S2341W)
