Four days to see Puerto Rico? I honestly can say it might not be enough. It also depends on where you will be staying. Despite the island being so small it sure does take a hell of a long time to get around.

If you are staying on the West Coast, be sure to give yourself ample driving time if you wish to visit the capital and El Yunque.

I would not bother too much with the capital if at all. El Morro is a wonderful experience but it is short lived and not worth the frustrating commute and nagivation through San Juan. There are little to no signs and getting around is complicated. There is also a lot of construction going on. The Barcardi rum plant is... good.

The beaches are great over all. Every town has their own 'thing'.

But some of the things I would love to see again are:

El Yunque (It's a must see. Take one day to do this, you will not regret it)

Arecibo Radio Telescope (if you leave early enough you might just squeeze this and the next into one day. Nice scenery. Be prepared for stairs or surprise drizzles)

Parque de las Cavernas del Rio Camuy (Very serene, highly worth it)

La Parguera (Beautiful waters, snorkling/ scuba/ any water related activity but the 'parties' and dining/ drinking is year round. Will be satisfied since there is plenty to do and see. Don't forget your camera!)

Boqueron (has the nicest beaches but.. it does get hot. Be prepared, make sure you have plenty of sunscreen and water. There rarely is shade so an umbrella will come in handy)

Gilligan's Island in Guanica (It's a tough time getting there but can very well be worth it. During some seasons can serve as a getaway)

El Tunel de Guajataca (this is really a place to stop and enjoy the spectacular view) Even after years of living here I cannot help but be amazed. There is also music and food all year round!

Also if you decide to take a stop in Aguadilla (where I am currently at) consider Tropical Trail Rides. It is a 2-3 hour horseback adventure through the tropical forest and on the beach. Go during the sunset since it is much cooler. Or you can try our beaches which have shade and nice warm waters. We even have a water park and more!

If this doesn't help-- get some brochures once you hit the island. It will give you lots of details.. including directions, numbers, hours of business and more!

AAH..That's my beautiful Island.

Puerto Rico is FULL of beautiful places to see. It all depends what type of activities you like. If you like site seeing, then you have to go to El Yunque (natural forest). There's also "El Morro" (The Fort) in Old San Juan. There's also "Las Cuevas de Camuy" (the Caves of Camuy).

If you like beaches, then Luquillo and Fajardo have some beautiful beaches. There's also the island of Culebra. It's a small island and you can get there by boat.

You'll see that 4 days will not be enough to do everything there is to do in PR. Check this website out...

Definite hits are the rain forests (El Yunque), the caves (Las Cavernas), and the bio luminescent bay - Mosquito Bay - on the island of Vieques. When we visited the bay a few years back, it was touted as the most highly concentrated luminescent bay in the world. The observatory in Arecibo is spectacular - it's the world's largest radio telescope built in the center of an inactive volcano.

Go to the bioluminescent bay!!! It's an amazing experience! You go kayaking at night into a bay with water that seems to have green glitter sparkling just under the surface! As fish swim by, their bodies light up - It's UNFORGETTABLE!!
