Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

People can have a form of godliness and even be using His name to do miracles...and yet not really be sincere. God wants a relationship with us as individuals....not for us to use His name to do meaningless works. He was angry at the Pharisees and the Saducees for that very thing.....they pretended to know alot about God, but they were not humble or sincere and they kept other regular people from finding out about God because of their uppity behavior.

God's name has power of its own, and sometimes evildoers can use it successfully within the framework of His will.

Mainly this passage means that everybody talkin' 'bout heaven ain't goin' there.

Supplicant: "Oh hi god! Listen, I never quite got around to doing all the preaching you wanted, because people were really starting to hate me. And they kept kicking me out of the mental wards, so I couldn't do much demon driving."

god: "Why you little.....begone forsooth!"

Because they worship the first christ that appears on earth, only to find out they were worshipping Satan, that comes as Anti-christ, or the Sprious Messiah, telling them that he's come to rapture them away.....

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon

It means to me that on the day of judgment only our relationship and acceptance of Christ as our Savior and our obedeience to Him will matter. I really think that our faith in Him will matter most

there will be people who do good and do good works in Gods name (unsaved people) they will believe that they are going to Heaven because of their good works, however God will let them know that they were never really his because they did not accept Christ as their savior and repent of their sins. Those people will not be in heaven.

Verse 21 clarifies that it is those who are not doing the will of Jesus' Father that are evildoers.

That is why Jesus said not my will but yours.

If we are not doing Jehovah's will we will not be saved.

To me, and anyone with a brain, that statement is a superstitious pile of bilge.
