Yes, it's just you and God. At the same time it is good and right to fellowship with fellow believers. This helps strengthen and grow our faith and also gives you an opportunity to help your fellow Christians grow as well. In addition, if God reveals His truth to you, why would you want to keep it all to yourself? Wouldn't it be better to share that gift with others? To help others. To think of others.

I'm in the same situation as your question implies. I have thought up until just a few years ago that it was just God, my Bible, and me. Now, I have come to the conclusion that this is not the right attitude, at least in the long term. I am to share what I believe and what God has shown me with others and I am to learn from others what God has shown them. In this way we are helping others and they are helping us, to grow in faith.

The problem lies in the fact, at least IMO, that there aren't any decent strictly bible teaching churches around anymore. I know now that fellowship and spreading the word are essential aspects of a Christian's walk with the Lord. So, I'm still looking for that church that is right for me.

For these reasons I think you should attend a church that is right for you.

Hi, there is controversy among Christians regarding this.
Normally it is recommended and often, even expected, that
a Christian will meet with other believers in a church. However,
today there is also a large movement called "home church"
or "house church". These people believe in just meeting
usually more informally in a home. Some basically just hang
out and support one another.

The Scripture that says we should not forsake meeting together
can be interpreted in a variety of ways.

I would recommend, first, praying to God and asking what is
best for you. Ask God to lead you to Christian fellowship that
will help you.

Please keep in mind that any Christian group, home church,
friend, pastor, leader or church is going to have its problems.
So be cautious about opening yourself up to people you don't
know well. Also, there are cultish groups out there which are
overly controlling. I recommend also doing some research online. Online see if there are complaints about the group.

God loves you and I believe your salvation itself is based
ONLY on accepting Jesus, not on whether you go to church
or do other things. Going to church is very helpful to some
new believers who find strength in friendships, and it is one
way to stay in the Word.

A church offers some benefits that staying home doesn't
but I would pray about what is best for you.

I recommend researching online. There are many good
Christian Bible and websites online.

I wouldn't feel condemned if I don't go to a church, however
if you feel a prompting or desire inside, then I would look
for one, but carefully.

You have to be careful about churches....they are not automatically safe places....on the other hand, they can
also be helpful.

May the Lord bless and guide you.

You can use a search engine, such as Google, and
type in "home church" or other Christian terms or
churches to study different ones. There are also supportive
interactive Christian groups out there on yahoo groups
and others.

God bless you!!!!!!!!!!

Once you have put on the righteousness of Christ, His shed blood for the remission of sins, there are more than just you and God.

You are part of the family of God. So, you go to church because you are the righteousness of Christ. Of course that would be the Church that Jesus Christ goes to. A bible faith church with the Grace foundation.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing a word about Christ / God.
It is also written to not forsake gathering together of the Saints especially when the Day of Christ is at hand. There are a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing out to get you and deception is ramped.

Then you should call yourself a hermit not a Christian. To believe in Christ is to believe in gathering of the faithfuls. It is not socializing to pray in unison or to work together in God's name. True, it is between you and God but you do not exist in this world alone for how can you show an act of charity if there is no one to give your charity to. Do you really hate socializing? Communicating in this site with us is a form of socializing. Do you think you are just afraid of being with people because you have made a judgement of them already? And you are just comfortable with us because it is easy for you to quit once you did not like something and you just couldn't careless? Check some more from your elders or pastors what it is to be Christian.

The Bible says not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together, and so much more as you see the day approaching.

There have been many times if it weren't for that scripture I would have stayed home from church but in order to be obedient I went to church and the Lord honors that.

As a Christian we all need some spiritual guidance. You don't need to socialize in church, just worship. In the Bible Jesus says (somewhere) that anywhere two or more are gathered in His name, He will be there us.

It it your choice not to attend church. However, church is for fellowshipping. It's essential to developing a good understanding of the Word of God. It's a place for you to find other believers liek yourself. Again, it's your choice. Just pray about it.

Believe what you may- but what do you think the rest of your churchgoers would think of you? And what about the money you give- how will your pastor (or whatever) afford that new Mercedes? I had a boss that dropped out of his "church" when his pastor just about demanded that "his" people set-up a monthly payment of 10% of their income directly to him- can you believe that shiite? He drove a new Mercedes and his wife drove a new BMW- and don’t forget the huge house the TWO of them lived in, or his Hugo Boss suits- it fricken amazes me!
