With the added thickness of swelling and mucous, I can see why it may make you gag a bit. Unfortunately, one cannot really get rid of the pain entirely, but here are some suggestions that may make it easier to tolerate. Drink lots of tea. My favorite is Orange Spice with a little honey in it. It's soothing on the throat and helps to cut through all the junk. I used to squeeze a little lemon in the tea, but the acid tended to make it hurt more. Avoid any milk products as these will only increase your "saliva" problem. Clear fluids and liquids like chicken broth and lots of water. Cold water is a little shocking on the throat, but alternated between the hot liquids will give some relief as well. Best wishes~

Sore winners If you win, you should be able to celebrate it in a CIVILIZED manner, you don't go around rubbing it in people's faces (unless you win like 45-2, then I guess you have somewhat of a right to rub it in). Being a sore winner won't get you anywhere; more or less it will minimize your credibility and you'll lose respect. Heck, if anything a sore winner will make their losing opponent into sore losers actually, because by rubbing it into their faces they'll only get mad and ticked off and they'll become sore about it too.

Sounds like post nasal drip. Try taking a shower and remain in the steamed bath. Drink hot tea with honey to coat the throat. Advil Cold & Sinus may help. Avoid dairy products. Drink lots of fluids (hot will help) and get some rest.

Well you can get rid of the sore throat by gargling salt water that is hot. It might taste bad, though it helps. I personally don't know any foods you can eat without the pain. Hope my advice helps you!!!!! :)

Gargle with soluble aspirin to relieve the pain.
Drink hot drinks to kill the bacteria.
Take some Vit C as you might be getting a cold.
If your glands swell up it might be worth a trip to the docs in a day or two.

more than likely the sore throat is caused by sinus drainage.....take something to help dry up your sinuses....like sudafed....try drinking hot tea or hot lemonade to soothe your throat.....they are good to drink because it doesnt thicken the mucus in you mouth....and it wont upset your stomach........cloreseptic cough drops are good to numb your throat too.....eat foods with lots of vitamin C and B.....avoid foods that are hard to digest. They might upset your stomach more. Avoid milk products...they thicken mucus and make a queasy stomach your worst enemy...lol...hope you get to feeling better soon Good Luck

Have you tried cough drops? I would also see a doctor because you may have strep throat or tonsilitis and may need some medication. Hope you feel better soon! :)

Gargle hot salt water. And drink hot salty stuff such as bouillon or chicken broth. I've found some teas to be soothing too.

Good luck!
