Several thousand years ago, the Holy Bible clearly recorded that the earth is round and that it is hung on nothing.

"It is He who sits above the circle of the earth" (Isa. 40:22).

"He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing" (Job 26:7).

The concept of dinosaurs are also given in bible in JOB:
40 . behemoth is the name of Dinosaurs used by God when discribing Dinosaurs to Job.

But in Quran.. it doesnt tell about Shape of Earth.. thats very weak..
In chapter 88:17,20, it is recorded,

"Will they not regard the camels how they are created...and the Earth how it is spread?"

"We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake so as not to sway and hurt people" (21:31).

You are arguing semantics and it doesn't help the Christian cause. As a Christian, I'd like to ask you to please stop. Don't just pull random things off websites. Not all websites are credible.

A circle is a 2-D shape that could imply a sphere but not explicitly so it doesn't prove anything.

Leave these kind of loosely translated arguments to the Muslims.

psssssssst!!!!

He has created the Heavens and the Earth for Truth. He wraps the night up in the day, and wraps the day up in the night. (Qur'an, 39:5)

In the Qur'an, the words used for describing the universe are quite remarkable. The Arabic word which is translated as "to wrap" in the above verse is "takwir." In English, it means "to make one thing lap over another, folded up as a garment that is laid away." For instance, in Arabic dictionaries this word is used for the action of wrapping one thing around another, in the way that a turban is put on. The information given in the verse about the day and the night wrapping each other up includes accurate information about the shape of the world. This can be true only if the Earth is round. This means that in the Qur'an, which was revealed in the 7th century, the roundness of the world was hinted at.

However, it should be remembered that the understanding of astronomy of the time perceived the world differently. It was then thought that the world was a flat plane and all scientific calculations and explanations were based on this belief. However, the Glorious Qur'an has employed the most definitive words when it came to describing the universe. These facts, which we could only correctly fathom in our century, have been in the Qur'an for a vast length of time.

I don't know if it said that the earth was round, but there are many places in the Koran where is talks the sun and the moon, and their orbits which were not known at the time of the prophet Muhammed(pbuh)
sura 21, verse 33:

"(God is) the One Who created the night, and day, the sun and the moon. Each one is traveling in an orbit with its own motion."

--sura 36, verse 40:

"The sun must not catch up the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. Each one is traveling in an orbit with its own motion."

At a time when it was held that the Earth was the center of the world and that the Sun moved in relation to it, how could any one have failed to refer to the Sun's movement when talking of the sequence of night and day? This is not however referred to in the Qur'an and the subject is dealt with as follows:

--sura 7, verse 54:
"(God) covers the day with the night which is in haste to follow it..."

--sura 36, verse 37:
"And a sign for them (human beings) is the night. We strip it of the day and they are in darkness."

--sura 31, verse 29:
"Hast thou not seen how God merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night."

--sura 39, verse 5:
"...He coils the night upon the day and He coils the day upon the night."

Two thousand years before that the Egyptians knew the earth was round and even knew the circumference. They measured it with sticks as the sun went across the sky. Only the uninformed thought it was flat.

That was way before Isiah

It's amazing that you can condense down the essence of a particular religion to "the shape of the earth"

Seriously, do you really believe that's the message God has for you?

I'll add you to my prayers

it is said in all qoran''{خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى أَلَا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ}... سورة الزمر الآية 5.
it means ''God created the skies and the earth , he conglobate the evening on the morning and conglobate the morning on the evening ,and he made the sun and the moon swimming for a circuit, he is the all-dear and all-forgiving ''al-zomor:5

The Koran has too many holes in it's writings and cannot be taken literally. The Holy Bible has fine detail and is literal.Allah is a meccan moon god idol, not a deity.

The word "spread" can only fit with spherical shape..think about it..and please don't come to science and the Bible and Qur'an. Qur'an is far superior here.
