What i mean basically is, will eating lots of fat give you a belly, where as protein and carbs, will they just make you bigger. What actually goes bigger (if its not your fat)?

Also will eating lots of protein bulk me up?

You should stay away from the bad fats like trans and saturated fats. As long as you are exercising the carbs you eat will be used as energy. As long as you eat the right carbs. Try to eat everything whole grain. Whole wheat pasta, wheat bread, sweet potato, high fiber cereal. Try to stick with lean protein like chicken and turkey breast, tofu, small amounts of avocado, egg whites and fish. Like I said as long as you are exercising you shouldn't bulk up.

It depends how active you are.
You need carbs for energy but consuming more carbs than you need will result in weight gain. Adjust your carb intake to suit your activity level and eat your carbs primarily in the morning and early afternoon; especially if you train in the morning. You continue to burn calories for about another hour after working out so it's the best time to eat them. If you strength train in the afternoon - eat something with minimal carbs to get you through your work out...like an apple - about 30grams. It takes approx 30 minutes of Cardio before you actually start to burn off any fat stores.
Eating less fat is a good start but you still need some fat - Maybe about 30 grams a day.
If you are trying to gain muscle mass, increasing your protein intake will help. It doesn't have to be strictly a meat source either. ..protein powders help... As long as it's just protein and not a meal substitute.
Also, eating small portions every three hours raises your metabolism so you burn more calories even while at rest. If you are hungry before your 3rd hour - you didn't eat enough. If you're not hungry at the end of the 3rd hour - you ate too much.
Getting plenty of sleep helps with muscle growth too.
If in doubt - check out Muscle Fitness Magazine. I always found some good info in there. Or speak to a nutritionist.

Muscles require protien and they eat fat. The problem is they also require carbs for the energy to do the workouts. Just don't eat crap carbs like fries, soda pop, cakes .... junk food basically. Make it a 60%-40% ratio protein to carbs. You got to live a little too you know. Then if you want to get cut, just eliminate all the carbs.

Your muscles need protien to grow. You won't bulk up from eating lots of protien alone, you also need to weight train. But as your muscles grow, the protein feeds them.

I think you should see a trainer. They know how to divide up macronutrients and to give you the right amount. A really good website to go to is www.bodybuilding.com and go into their supersite. They have transformations of the week where guys have gotten pretty big. A lot of them post their nutritional diets.
