Keep in touch with your old friends, while you make new friends. Also why not go back to visit when you can? Just remember that people change, so don't totaly freak out when your old friends are different!

get all the addresses and promise to write all the time. chat online, make plans to get together during vacations. it is not a death sentence to move away from friends, just an opportunity to make new ones.

Keep in touch via internet, phone etc. It happens and will keep happening. You'll make new friends and settle in wherever you go.
