You should absolutely get them a gift. As a member of their wedding party, you are a guest at their wedding. Besides, I'm assuming that if you're in their wedding party they're either a close friend or a relative, so I would think you'd want to give them a gift anyway.

Best Regards,
Holly

I think it is probably a good idea to give a present to the bride and groom even if you are part of the wedding party. It doesn't have to be a big, expensive present. Perhaps a gift card for a modest sum, say $25?

You do incur a lot of expenses as a member of the bridal party. Your participation in the wedding is considered a "gift" to the bride and groom.

As I said above, I think a small gift would be appropriate- or whatever your budget allows. (Maybe the bridal party can "go into" the gift by donating sums to buy a large gift on the bride and groom's wish list).

You don't have to if you paid for your tux rental or dress and accessories. It's considered above and beyond to then purchase a gift...unless they are a close friend or relative. For instance, my husband and I were both in a wedding where we paid over $400 for the tux, dress, shoes, and shower gift. The bride and groom weren't very close friends or relatives so we didn't purchase a wedding gift. They were totally fine with it and didn't expect it.

Usually if you are a member of the wedding party, ie groomsman, it is customary for the bride/groom to give you a gift versus you giving one to them. If you are a member of the witnessing party, ie sitting on a bench, you give a gift.

I would, yes. And members of my wedding party gave me gifts when I married ... except for one or two who really could not afford it, and I understood (for those two people I had even paid for their clothing b/c I knew their situation & would not expect a wedding gift).

Since you are also a guest at the wedding, you should give the couple a gift.

I think the gifts from thewedding party should be the most special. You are obviously one of the most important people in their lives, so why wouldn't you want to get them a gift? One of my bridesmaids didn't get me a gift and I was really hurt!

yes, if money is a problem give them a card with a free cooking or housecleaning coupon in it....then at a later date explain to the bride, or groom, depending on who your friends with, that money was so tight, but you wanted to do something special for them!
