You really have nothing to worry about. It's one of the most common surgeries done on a daily basis. If you're having the deep incision abdominal surgery it's painful after wards but they give you good pain meds and it gets easier everyday. If you have the small bellybutton incision surgery, there is some pain but way less than the other. I had the first and it was hard because I had a 1 yr old at home. My dad and grandmother had the second and it was a snap for both of them. They were in their 50's when they had it. Just think positive and you will get through it. It's only temporary.

Gall bladder removal is usually a very simple surgery. Rarely anyone dies from it. If you are healthy then you should have to worry. As long as the hospital is fully equiped, which most hospitals in the United States and Canada are, you should be fine.

The actual surgery will take about 15 minutes. You will spend about an hour in post op. You will be sore and groggy for a while. You will need to take it easy for several days if not several weeks. Don't worry it is a very routine surgery these days.
