the only legal time to shoot a dog is if it is endangering livestock or humans..AT the time of shooting. However, all counties have animal control and health departments, so either of them will act on this..

You need to take the animal to a vet and have it put down. That is the most humane way of handling this. Shooting it is not the answer because there is no guarantee you will kill the animal in one shot and it will then suffer. Also, what are you planning, trying to hold it down and shoot it? You stand a good chance of hurting yourself or others as well.

NO, it is NOT legal to shoot a dog. If this dog has bitten someone, the owner can surrender it to a shelter or a veterinarian and ask them to put the dog down humanely and dispose of the body properly, by law.

It would probably be best if you call one of the local vet offices to find out. They would know all the laws related to animals in your state. Maybe you should also find out what the circumstances actually were concerning this particullar dog. Maybe he has a medical condition that was aggrivated by the person he bit.
Good luck on your conquest.

If the dog is NOT endangering your life, or the life of someone near you at the moment, you have no justification to kill the dog.

You could call someone to come and pick it up like animal control.
They can put it to sleep in a humane way.

Call animal control they can humanely euthanise the dog... if you shoot it you may not kill it outright and cause it unnecessary suffering.
