The best is whatever the dog will eat. Just because it is suppose to be some designer food, or high price food, it doesn't mean that the dog will like it.

Check out Innova Evo. It's all natural, no preservatives, preserved with Vitamin E. It's a dogs natural diet in dry form. Good for any breed, puppy to senior. Check them out on line. Stay away from anything you can buy in the supermarket. Purina to Pro Plan is all junk. PS. I am not a salesperson. I'm a dog groomer, and have 1st hand experiance with watching dogs on this food go from having bad coats and skin to having beautiful coats and healthy skin, bright eyes, and all around healthier. I use it myself for my dogs and cats. The shop I work for sells others dog foods, and I still recommend Innova Evo to my customers rather then the food sold there. Again, I am not a salesperson!!! Just check out the food and the benifits of it on line. I don't know the address, but I'm sure you can find something.

I have a English Bulldog and he's two. When we first got him the vet told us not to feed him puppy chow because Bulldogs gain weight really fast and puppy chow has a lot of fat and calories that they need to burn off and as you know they do not have a normal puppy energy level. They go in spurts. We put out dog on the adult formula Vet. food. He's a nice healthy weight. Be very careful what you feed English bulldogs and how much you feed them. They do become obese and are prone to heart attacks. If you want them to live long then watch their diet. If you didn't want to feed him Vet. food just go and get a dry dog food for low energy dogs. That food isn't filled with a bunch of calories and extra fats that your dog can't and wont burn off. Pedigree and Iams are just a few examples of dog food you can buy. For treats give him Denta Bones. They help clean his teeth as well as they have no fat in them.

English Bull Dogs have a lot of allergies. You need to try Wellness! It is an all natural food that really is good for a dogs intestinal system. It promotes health joints and it does really good with skin conditions, which bull dogs usually have. Wellness also makes treats that pin point different problems and health issues, so it is an all around wonderful company to buy from. I would give it a try.

Purina One: Puppy. Purina One brand is what I fed my dog over the course of her entire life with me. She was a very active farm girl. She helped me herd our horses and went on several pack trips, was a therapy dog, and had a very scary growl that thwarted two robbery attempts. Her coat, teeth and energy level were in great shape. I hope you have a wonderful life with your new friend.

first off, dog food is not breed specific. Buy a high quality food, not puppy chow, beneful, iams, science diet....blah blah blah. One of the best foods that is readily available at petsmart is blue buffalo or natures variety. all bulldog breeds are prone to skin allergies and cheap dog food only irritate them further. go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and find the best food that is available in your area. what you might spend extra on dog food, you will save in vet bills in the long run.

I like Blue Buffalo. It is expensive but worth it (IMO). I have to be careful what I feed since my dog can't have wheat or corn or he gets such bad gas he'll clear the room.
