Is there such a thing as "Safe Black Mold"? I know that Black Mold can cause health problems, but someone said that the kind I found in our basement isn't the kind that makes you sick... is this possible?

I guess I didn't state my question well. My question isn't HOW to get rid of it. My question is, is there such a thing as "safe black mold"? Or is all black mold not good?

Yes, I think there is such a think as safe black mold. I remember there being an "outbreak" of a mold that was black in a previous town I lived in. Several claims were denied because they didn't have the right kind of black mold. Some of these residents were told that they just had "regular black mold, not the toxic black mold". I don't know the difference, but I guess there is one.

Mold is present everywhere; newsmedia likes to say "toxic black mold" even though there are not any substantive studies that indicate mold is a toxin in many cases where it has been held out as the culprit. Clorox it and don't worry.

Not all black mold is toxic, but it is wise to go on and have it tested anyways because if it is toxic- well, you know the dangers. Although - ALL molds have the potential to harm you. But no, not all black mold is toxic

No there is really no safe form of black mold all forms are dangerous sorry.

Black mold can make you sick. But its easy to clean up.
Spray the affected area with bleach and allow it to sit. Then paint it with killz paint. continue with bleach until its gone.
