I have taken my cat to the vet twice and she has been put on anti-biotics, but it has not gone away. I have been told that it is chronic, but I would like to do something to help her. She is in good health just gives off snot rockets everyday. What could it be and what can I do??? Thanks

My female cat is the same and leaves snail trails of snot when she head butts my arm. She was very sick when we first got her( found outside with dead siblings) and has had a couple of respiratory infections. I know she reacts alot to dust and cigarette smoke so we try to be very careful with her and make sure to have windows open for a little bit each day to get fresh air. She is very small and yet the other surviving cat, we have her brother too, is huge and in great health. Good luck with the anti-biotics. I was a two person ordeal when we did that.

He's got allergies. It may be to food he's fed or to a scent you have on. It could be several things like air fresheners, the season, you may need to change food or visit a vet to see what the problem is. The can do blood work and that will give you an indefinite answer!

Sounds like allergies. I do the same thing (with the snot rockets).... Just kidding, but it does sound like allergies. Maybe you just have to find the right medication for her, just like us humans it is a trial and error thing. and if this vet doesnt know what more to do, go to another one.

You can't do anything really. It is a chronic respiratory disease that felines can acquire that is similar to bronchitis in humans. and it will never go away. Making sure that it isn't too cold in your house can sometimes help since it keeps her nose from running. Don't give her too many antibiotics though, they don't fix the problem and can mess up her other bodily systems through prolonged use.

maybe you should try another vet & see what they say . you can also call an animal clinic and ask them what you can do because one vet might not identitfy the problem but another one might .
