Well I have spent alot of time around pro boxers and it is something that trainers preach. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that some boxers would be up all night before a fight if you didn't set these rules. It also has something to do with them being more meaner. If you go 1 month without it you can become angry.

It is true and it's not a "big fight", it's any fight. Most men I know refrain for 2 weeks beforehand. There's been plenty of discussion as to whether it matters, or is scientifically sound, and so on, but I tend to believe people that actually do something over people that study people that do it. I've heard many rationales- some to do with testosterone production, some to do with psychology. As a female fighter I'm less concerned with abstaining from sex before a fight. In my opinion it increases relaxation and endorphins. Honestly, a lot of the time when you're training hard and cutting weight for a fight you just don't feel like having sex anyway. At the end of the day you feel starved and you're more interested in dressing your injuries and getting as much sleep as possible.

Thats sounds retarded, on the show brainiac (bunch of British nerds) set out to test whether having sex before a game (in the case of this experiment: soccer) would be a disadvantage or improve thier game. So they talked to a soccer team with at that over half the team was married or in a serious relationship. They talked the team into a scrimmage and talked their half thier wife's into putting out, Im not kidding. So the team played the first half of the game (pretty even game), at halftime they pulled half the team over to the side and provided them and thier ladies with some "private time". Then they played the second half, guess who won? The guys who got booty came back from a 1 point deficit to win by 4 points. They concluded that sex would help one's performance in an athletic event.

This is a myth!! There is absolutely no Truth to this whatsoever. Ask or email any professional boxer if you do not believe;they'll tell you the same thing!

I heard this too but it's a myth some people choose to, to be more aggressive in a fight. I don't think it really makes a difference.

It's not good for a fighter to have sex a few weeks before a fight because it drains your testerone levels, which is very important in fighting. It gives more of a "killer instinct" and sex does weaken the legs.
