alcohol isnt an ingrediant its a by product

beer has water hops barley and alot of suger. It is mandatory to state what goes into every consumabe product, this doesnt answer why they get away with it.

It's not mandatory.

Second, yes, alcohol is an ingredient. In the case of most liquors, the only ingredients are alcohol (ethanol if you prefer) and water. If you add alcohol to water or water to alcohol (which all spirits are) then there are your two ingredients. Liqueurs are sugar and alcohol and water and whatever super secret combination of flavors they might contain. Nobody's letting the competition in on their secret recipes.

Ease up on the paranoia...the simple lack of publishing the ingredients or constituents in something does not imply "hiding" anything. If it's that important to you, ask them.

Because alcohol is not a food and therefor is not currently regulated by the FDA's law

That's because there's only one ingredient: alcohol.

Sometimes, if it has a taste (like... Oh, I don't know... Malibu rum?), it's because they just put flavoring in it, which under any other food would be "flavoring".

I'm pretty sure that's why.

You're better off not knowing. Ignorance is bliss. Drink up and enhance your blissfulness.
