Anything with a little chef is quite bad.

As for nicest, there's a service station somewhere in scotland that's actually really pleasant. Can't remember where it was exactly but I was on my way from newcastle to inverness at the time if that helps

You have posed a problem there. If you had asked for the best service station for food, we would have had the same problem.
Unfortunately they are catering only for the passing trade and have a captive audience. They certainly overcharge on the value for what service they do provide.

I have travelled all over Briton but yet to get a good meal. preferring to take a sandwich or a flask of soup and a flask of tea with me. Service stations take too much time.Handy for the shop or the loo though.

Reading, M4 Eastbound.

I got food poisoning from a tuna sandwich. Both ends. In hotel rooms.

Warwick southbound (M40) is not so hot. There's one on the M74 which is just deathly.

But they're all pretty grim. Get a guide book and get off the highway.

Any motorway service area food outlet. Over priced is one of my major complaints also the grease levels are higher than a hogs back.

If you want good food while travelling about, go off motorway and find a good village pub or restaurant.

Go to a supermarket before you set off, buy a sandwich/wrap/ whatever and a bottlle of drink and perhaps some fruit. It's a damn sight better and cheaper than the crap they sell in motorway gaffs p.s. take a look around the back of any of them it will put you off for life!!!!!!!
