I ask this question because I wonder when is it right? I do not think that killing is right, but I do not look upon someone who's daughter was raped and he killed her attacker, I do not see him being wrong.
But then I myself would not do such a thing. Such as when I forgave my daughters father for molesting her, and she did too.
Some told me I was wrong in forgiving him, and wished bad things upon him. But I felt sorry for him, because I knew in order for him to do such a thing something happened to him. So I ask when is it right or wrong? And do you think I was stupid to forgive, and in doing so my daughter forgave too?

Sorry, but it's against my religion to take another persons life. I would feel justified if he/she was prosecuted for their crime.

It's definitely not wrong to forgive. Forgiveness is really the only way to wholeness. Hatred (the seed of revenge) is an evil cancer that eats away at the soul and is good for no one.

I know that revenge, no matter how tempting it is at times, is not the answer and I would not kill to avenge a loved one. Why? In the case of a murder, it wouldn't bring the person back, and would cost me my free life.

Although is is socially acceptable in our society to avenge a loved one by killing or hurting a murderer or rapist, etc.; it's not right. Two wrongs don't make a right; and the end does not justify the means.

Forgiveness is divine. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. We are to forgive one another 70 x 70. So for you and your daughter to have forgiven this man is far greater than having wished or done bad things to him!! You have a very good heart and realize people who do such horrible things are in deed in need of sympathy not hatred.

Killing in revenge for having a loved one killed is not justified. Also, you are lowering your state of mind to those who committed such an act. You are damaging yourself psychologically by committing such an act because it is unnatural. So, unless you don't mind carrying around mentally-illed baggage, I do not suggest it.

We need to forgive those who hurt us and ours. That doesn't mean the person shouldn't go to jail for the crime.

Yes, innocent people get killed by a person who is demon possessed. I don't see how anyone can kill someone any other way. So, we have to forgive, because Jesus forgave us our sins and tossed them far from us. So we need to do the same toward others. Forgiving helps in the mending & grieving.

Those that rape are also sinners needing a savior. They need to come to repentance to God for not believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and having heart faith in the atonement & resurrection.

It is never right to take someones life. I too understand his anger but where does killing the attacker get him? In jail for the rest of his life and a lot more grief for the family. We need to forgive and have faith that our emotions will be healed and the attacker will be dealt with.

Killing the person that killed your loved one is not the answer. How do you know that one of his/her loved ones wont come after you? Killing that person could only start a vicious circle of ending life prematurely.

Forgiveness is best. I had a family member that moslested another family member and trust me I wanted to kill. But it would have done more damage than good. Mainly because they would be dead and I possibly would be behind bars with someone named "Alfreda" wanting me to be her woman (lol).

God will deal with us according to how we deal with others. Trust God's word and do it. Forgive.

Forgiveness is the best thing you can do.

I'd like to think that I would have the awareness to be that way if I was in the same situation. But if someone harmed my familiy, I am fairly certain that I would fall into unconsciousness and kill them without mercy.

I do not believe it would make things better for me or my loved ones, but I fear instinct would take over nontheless.

You are commanded to forgive, and remember Jesus said as you forgive you shall be forgiven.
As to the killing if someone attacked my daughter I would do my best to put that person on the ground as hard, and as fast as I could get them there.

if someone kills a loved one, then by you killing that person is not gonna bring ur loved one back to you... killing that person is also a selfish act.. u mite wonder why i say that... well its coz da reason u kill him is for self ratification, killing him is not gonna do any good to the deceased loved one.. but of course at the end of the day, da devil has his way and anger, frustration and hatred will natuarally make you AND ME pick up that knife and use it on that murderer by opening up a brand new breathing hole just above his adams apple... =]

Just because someone harmed a person, it dose not make it right to harm the criminal. two wrongs do not make a right even if it had no reason to do it. I see it this way because, do you think the person wants revenge or not?
