This may seem silly, but I got one of those Chia herb gardens last Christmas. My husband is good with plants, but 3 out of 4 have died. I still have a little basil plant going.

So if you've ever tried to grow Chia plants, how long do they last? I'd love to have basil by winter.

they can last years, make sure your basil has good light, not left to dry out too much. Add a good fruit and vegtable food to the water once a month, I had chives and cilantro for over 4 years from a chia..I did re-pot them the 3rd year, they needed soil to keep growing! Finally put them outside..and moved soon after.
