I've never been able to swallow any form of pills, including softgels. I take omega fish oil with the good fatty acids. is it okay to bite on the softgel and swallow the oil inside? It taste nasty but I still do it.

With something like an omega oil i'd say it's okay. Certain medications really shouldn't be chewed as they will not absorb properly or worse could irritate, or harm you if not allowed to reach your stomach. I agree - with the omega fish oil it will taste terrible, but will not hurt you.
By the way - adding flaxseed to your diet is a great way to get omega 3 (and it doesn't taste like rancid fish!)
