The Bible and abortion.
The scriptures are curiously silent on the subject of abortion. The only place in the New Testament where it is specifically named is Paul's oblique reference to his being "untimely born" ("aborted") in I Cor. 15:8.
But in this text Paul is using the term symbolically, either with reference to his unusual spiritual birth-his being "extruded" into the kingdom-or he is "taking up an insult hurled at him by his opponents" (Arndt and Gingrich). The term is clearly symbolic in this text and therefore doesn't help us in the present discussion.
Exodus 21:22-25
Some scholars argue that the case law in Exodus 21:22-25 is applicable:
And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him; and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
This passage is notoriously difficult to interpret, as all Old Testament students will attest. The crux is the expression, "further injury": To whom does it refer: the mother or the child?
The ancient rabbis almost unanimously took the phrase to refer to the mother, in which case the death of the mother required the death of the man who struck her. The death of the fetus, on the other hand, was punishable only by compensation paid to the father. If we interpret the passage in this way, the life of the mother is worth a life, while the life of the fetus is of considerably less value.
Others, however have taken the phrase to refer to the fetus, in which case the fetus is reckoned to be human and abortion is equivalent to murder. Another possibility is that "further injury" refers to both mother and child, in which case the death of either was punished by death. But an even more difficult problem in this text is the matter of premeditation. Clearly the abortion or miscarriage is accidentally induced in which case there should be no death penalty at all since manslaughter was not a capital crime in Israel.
My conclusion, therefore, is that the passage is so enigmatic that it's unsuitable for our purposes and we are left with our original problem: The scriptures do not seem to contain an explicit teaching on the absolute morality or immorality of abortion.
SOME THOUGHTS ON ABORTION
Dave Roper
http://www.raystedman.org/leadership/roper/dcroper/musings/abortion.html
When we come back to the Scriptures on the question of abortion, it seems to me that it is almost assumed in the Bible that human life is present in the fetus. It is like the argument about the existence of God -- very little Scripture could be used to answer the philosophical claim that God doesn't exist, because Scripture assumes that he does. This matter is much the same -- Scripture simply assumes that human life is present in the fetus and that it is there from the beginning.

I think the religious amongst us will get this one easy peasy lemon squeezy. The Ten Commandments, of which one is -: Thou shall not kill----. Maybe some Islamic fundamentalists[their the ones who MURDER innocents] should try to keep to that and there would be no war in Iraq.
Sorry how stupid of me it's all our fault[non Muslims] that there is carnage and wars all over. We should have said "sorry or excuse me" when those lovely young educated men flew the planes into the Twin Towers and The Pentagon. Open your eyes and think for YOURSELF and don't be led like lambs to the slaughter by the Preachers of Hate.
I have no religious beliefs.

No. Not a word. However, it clearly defines the point at which life begins as the point when the first breath is taken.
The abortion issue is purely political and used solely as a means to manipulate those who are incapable of separating emotion and reason.

the area of cannibalism isn't addressed in the Bible. there isn't any direct fact in Scripture that announces, “Thou shalt no longer consume human flesh.” yet are you gonna prepare dinner up yet somebody else and consume them, NO why given which you comprehend it quite is incorrect a no-brainer. EDIT: as to drugs Christians are decrease than a nicely-known mandate to comprehend and obey the regulations of the land . Matt 22:21 - 1Peter 2:13-17 in simple terms disagreeing with a regulation does no longer characterize a license for breaking that regulation. As for abortion study this: Exodus 21:22-25 22 "If adult males who're combating hit a pregnant lady/ with toddler and he or she supplies beginning upfront yet there isn't any severe harm, the criminal could be fined notwithstanding the female's husband calls for and the courtroom facilitates. 23 yet while there is severe harm, you're to take existence for existence, why is the unborn fetus referred to as a toddler and refered to as existence if it dies. AND: (Psalm 139:13-sixteen). For you created my inmost being; you knit me jointly in my mom's womb. I compliment you by way of fact i'm fearfully and fantastically made; your works are stunning, i comprehend that finished nicely. My physique became no longer hidden from you while i became made in the secret place. while i became woven jointly in the depths of the earth, your eyes observed my (unformed physique.) each and all the days ordained for me have been written on your e book formerly considered one of them got here to be .

What the Bible says about Abortion
Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life.
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. -- Exodus 21:22-23
The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6
Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.
Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16
God sometimes approves of killing fetuses.
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. -- Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. -- Hosea 9:14
Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. -- Hosea 9:16
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. -- Hosea 13:16
God sometimes kills newborn babies to punish their parents.
Because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. -- 2 Samuel 12:14
God sometimes causes abortions by cursing unfaithful wives.

Exodus 21: 22-25
22 "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely [e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
Hope this is enough information.
It says a pregnant woman. Any woman who has concieved is pregnant.

Yes ... Thou shall not kill, Matthew 5:21.
To the answerer below me ...
How is a fetus not a "human being"? You can't get something from nothing. Only God can do that. A sperm is a living cell and an egg is a living cell ... combined they create life not death. Or are you telling me the two combined make nothing?
Again, this is in response to the answerer below me.

Woman(Church): Behold thy (Bastard)Son.
Cursed EVERYONE that hangeth on a tree.
For sin, when "it is finished", brings forth death.
Law: both source & strength of sin's death sting.
Perhaps having an oxymoronic man-child, is
indeed dangerous to the life of the mother, if
as man, he'd rule all nations with a rod of iron,
and as Son of man, he'd be a 'vengeful' ruler,
destroying even himself, by destroy them all.
To wit: that God was in Christ reconciling the world,
by NOT (law) imputing their trespasses unto them;
No, not even to the "worse"-end sort of two "them"s.
"worse"-end: Mt 12:45 ... Revelation 1:4; 3:1; 4:5; 5:6.
Thank God word "worst" isn't mentioned at all in NT;
But "blotting out" of what's against us: law, is ment'd.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

In Psalm 106 God speaks specifically against killing innocent children and babies. He says of His people: They mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. They worshipped their idols which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughter to demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan and the land was desecrated by their blood.
God said to the prophet Jeremiah, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 God knew this man before he was born. As he was forming in his mother's womb God gave him his personality, talents, and temperament. If his mother had gotten an abortion, the "fetal tissue" she aborted would have been a real person named Jeremiah; a mighty prophet of God and the gift of God's voice to the nations, though she would never have known.
God says this about parents who don't care for their young: Even the jackals offer their breasts to nurse their young, but my people have become heartless like ostriches in the desert. Lamentations 4:3

You have to read between the lines. The bible doesn't just say some specific things like abortion, but it does say you should not kill. Abortion is killing.
