Go with the usual bright spring mix, if you want to do what every one else has already done. To be very elegant, look to some of the latest colors that are popping up in weddings. I think a nice steel blue would be fabulous, very understated and elegant. Also a selection of natural mossy greens.

I personally would go for something that would be bright against a rather drab weather background without being blinding. Forest green would work well. Pastels would just get washed away in the greyness and besides, it's September, not May.
If you could find "the perfect shade," I think a burnt sienna would be lovely. (That is a deep pumpkin color that has as much red and brown in it as it does orange.)

I got married in Sept. 06 and I had a glorious day so you can't tell what the weather will be like! You should go for autumn colours but there is time enough for all of that!

Something cheerful. You want colors that will make it happy. You know how you feel all gloomy and just BLAA well use colors to your advantage. bright and cheerful colors!
