Of course some do...and vice-versa. My Parish (Catholic Church) has dozens of ex-Protestants as Parishioners...including one of the Priests and the Principal of the K-8 school. And quite honestly, we have many Catholics who attend who might as well be Protestants...including the Governor of my state!
(The Catholic Church teaches that God is the final authority on the love of God, by the way.)

I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic grade school, mass twice a week, the works. In high school, I decided it was all a load of mythological rubbish and I went looking elsewhere. I've attended Protestant services, Baptist, Universal Unitarianists, and then just started reading books on Christianity, Judaism, Islam. I decided it was all mythology. I figure NO church is needed, NO religion is needed, NO middleman at all is needed in order for a human being to connect with God. Love of God? Breathe in, breathe out...Did God need a middleman to create anything? Nope...

Yes they do and inevitably they come back. They realize that they had Jesus' real presence in the Holy Eucharist and they do not have that anywhere else. The Catholic Church is the final authority--because Jesus gave them that authority "What you bind on Earth shall be bound in Heaven and what you loose on Earth shall be loosened in Heaven" The Catholic Church is the ONLY Church who's founder you will not find in a grave.

As a Catholic, I have attended a couple of Protestant services in the past(Baptist & Pentecostal), but, I never felt the Lord's Holy Presence there.
Only when I attend Holy Mass, do I sense Christ Is there.

Many go to other churches because they got burned in their Catholic church. Hopefully they find a true Christian Church. The Catholic church is religious and works are emphesized. When Salvation is the free gift of God. But there are other religions out there that are religious and works are emphesized also. A good church that teaches bible faith and God's Grace & love is essential for freedom in Christ. And to not beat self over the head in condemnation.

Catholics, like those of other religion, may explore other faiths. When you meet and talk with a Catholic, ask your question of that person. Individuals are different and have different paths.
I was raised Catholic and have explored other faiths.
Although I do not go to Mass, I like the rituals of the Catholic church.

The only church that has the final authority is the church of Christ. His body alone can make you truely Holy, but not the praises on others, or higher authority of any man, but God alone; and only God will any man be truely God's people.
May God Bless

The Catholic church the one true Christian religion. Someone who wants to leave the church ussually leaves becuase the church teaches agaisnt somehting they do. So they will either give up Christianity or find a church that will not condemn that sin.
