Across your back and the head of snake over the shoulder. Wrapped around your leg like it's crawling up your leg.
Do NOT get it on the stomach if you have not had kids. Or did have kids and now have stretch marks. If you have not had any, and then do after the tat, it's going to look weird, disgusting and will never look the same again. And you'll be pissed at yourself for any stomach tats done. Back, arms, or legs is the best areas for tats.
But in all seriousness, a cobra tattoo is going to look horrible on a woman. And I'm not a girly girl to say that, I do have several tats myself, but strategically small and placed where only I and my man can enjoy them.

Now that depends......if it is a coiled cobra, then it needs to sit somewhere that suits the shape, so lower back or ankle.
If the snale is going to 'wrap' around you, then have it creeping up your side and around your shoulder onto your neck, that looks really effective.
Alternatively, down your spine would be nice, but its a bit painful (my tattoo on my spine was quite sore) If you are going to go for a band...I would avoid a snake, go for a more tribal design and leave the snale for a more showcase area.
Some good advice on here, especially, consider if you can show your tattoo for work, if not, think and choose wisely, so you can always cover up. If have tattoo's on my forearm and back, so I can either show them or hide them away.
Good luck and good choice of tattoo !

If you are a professional, I would recommend getting it where it will not be seen in the workplace. If you really dont care, get it where ever you want it. But I can assure you, if you have plans or are currently looking at a career path, visible tattoos still hold a taboo that are not very positive. You could put it on your upper legs, your torso (front and back) but I wouldnt recommend getting it on your neck or arms.

Where ever you wish. Its your tattoo and your body.
I don't know you well enough to say whether or not you should use a highly visible place or one that can be easily covered. However, I automatically say no to all lower back/tramp stamp tattoos.
Another thing that would help in figuring out where to put it is the size of the tattoo and how the snake is shaped. If its coiled up, try one of your hips or shoulder blade. If its stretched out like its slithering, maybe have it going up your side or up your leg.
Whatever you decide, good luck and I hope you like it.

Do you have other tatoos? Depending on your age and other factors, eg. I advised my daughter not to get a tatoo anywhere visible if she plans to wear a wedding dress....My daughter has one on her lower back and one on her hip.

i saw a wrapping tat around a torso once, and it looked pretty sweet. i've always wanted a coy fish going up my thigh. i think a snake going up you thigh towards something else, would drive a man nuts. at least if he likes tats that is. so i guess my answer is two: thighs are always hot, but if your into a bit more pain and are willing to sacrifice a clean abdomen, then your abdomen to your torso. just think about what your job is and what needs to be covered when and think about it like that.

from your arm pit down to your ankle... curving and slithering.. then you have an excuse to wear sexy shirts and skirts that are "sideless" (have clear straps that hold them on like at www.flirtcatalog.com
