I have a 2ghz system, running WinXP Pro, and some times when I turn on the computer, it loads extremely quick, with 12 items that load in the taskbar area, while other times I turn it on and it all loads VERY slow. I cannot figure out why it loads so fast at times, and other times not. Can anyone help me with possible answer? I appreciate any input you can give, and any possible solutions to try and make it always load quickly. Thanks.

Cos its got a mind of its own!

But seriously speakin, it may be one of the startup items. If you know how to selectively start up the comp by going to start-run-msconfig, then try checking off each item to see how the sys starts. Start up items and spywares are the main culprits.

Also, defrag the disk regularly.

12 items in the systray is a lot of startups. I will bet you that you dont need most. Get the free version of winpatrol and see whats happening when you boot. Check out liutilities.com to see what the processes actually are and if they are needed. Don't forget to look at your services (start > run > services.msc)
