1. Get him or her spayed or neutered. (We do not need more pitbull puppies out there anyway, as so many are killed due to over breeding.) Go to http://www.friendsofanimals.org

2. Take your dog for a brisk walk at least once a day. Throw some obedience training in to keep it "busy." For example, make your dog sit before you cross any street, and whenever a person passes you.

3. Make sure your dog is on a high quality food, like fish and chips from http://www.frrco.com/121668 You feed less than regular brands because of the quality so it's only a few cents more per feeding plus free shipping. It is also great for the skin and coat, and helps ward off health problems like allergies, cancers, and other ailments.

4. Make sure your dog gets plenty of quality attention! This can be in the form of obedience training simple commands for up to 10 minutes at a time, for things like "sit" "down" and "come."

5. Train your dog to "sit" whenever someone comes to the door.

6. Make your dog do a command like sit or down before feeding it, petting it, letting it through a door, before letting it go outside, etc. The idea is to get something ( a command executed) from your dog before giving the dog something. Never give your dog a treat or food without having it do something first!

I have pitbulls and am experienced with them. Please email me at libertydogtraining@yahoo.com if I can help you further, and please let me know if the above helps!

I have a pit and we live in an apartment, and while i am at work she is in the bathroom. so she is very hyper when i get home, i walk her as soon as i get off, if there is a day i can't walk her do to weather, she has a few toys we play with, and we play fetch in the house- it is not a long run so we play that for a long time, and believe me she will let you know when she is done playing, she won't let you do anything until she gets her attention first. Her being a pit she tears alot of her toys up rather quickly, we have found that the ropes are some of the best toys, she doesn't tear them up as quickly. i also take her to my mom's and let her run in her back yard when possible. i take her with me just about everywhere i go (if it is somewhere she can go too) -

The Pit Bull is a terrier, and terriers naturally have a lot of energy. Usually, having it fixed does help with energy levels. But it will require training and socialization which can help calm it down and desensitize it to elements that may cause extra activity. But it is going to have a lot of energy throughout it's lifetime and be prepared for that. Unfortunately there is no magic pill or medicine that will calm the dog, but consult with your veternarian about a diet that could help the situation out.

She/he is a breed that gets very hiper and all you can do is play with her till she poops out and be sure to have lots of toys for your dog that way she won't get bored with them. If she is a puppy she will mellow as she gets older. Training is also good way to help your dog with too much energy

Pit Bulls have a ton of energy.
It needs to have a yard for exercise. If you don't have one, try taking your dog to a park (as long as it's not aggresive) to play with other dogs. If that's not an option, walk it. Take it on runs.
Just let it get it's energy out.

If you don't want to get it fixed the only other thing that worked on ours is pleanty of walks and I don't mean around the block. Good long walks and play with em when you are out there. We usually play fetch for at least 15 min while outside and walk for at least 15.

walk him as much as you can. Then after the walk take him somewhere that is fenced in (dog park would be best) and throw around a ball with him. Just wear him out. A tired dog is a happy one....and a happy owner.

pitbulls are very energentic dogs you have to have a lot of time and energy to keep up with them. if you are not planning on breeding it you should try spaying or neutering it. they will become much more easier to live with as well you wont have to worry about other male or female dogs coming around.

There are new collars that go around the mouth that will keep him/her from pulling when on the leash. Other then that take him/her out more and play with him/her. The more excersize it gets the better.
