it will start to turn white eventually (Like Mike) and that's the first sign of the dairy going rotten. I know it took my easter bunny 4 years before I finally decided it looked to gross to keep on a shelf.

if it's on display without a covering it will gather dust. Some bypasser will probably grab it up before it gets too dusty....these days chocolate is being advertized as being very healthy... :-)
If you don't want it there are many takers. Chocolate anything for the holidays is meant to be eaten. Of course if you live in Florida you can watch it melt out of shape.

Hailee is right it will start turning colors and it will taste rancid if you try to eat it.
