Dating 6months. Share lots of good times, but I'm concerned about the future of this relationship. I've expressed concerns about racial issues. She says "give it time". Is it too soon to tell?

You have two things against the future of this relationship. The first thing is the lesbian issue and the second is the racism. The future of this relationship is going to depend on the love and care you have for each other. It will depend on how much are you willing to give up to make this work and how much is your partner willing to give up to make it work. I think that you should focus on the relationship and forget about prejudice people that don't know how to deal with their lives, but want to run other peoples lives. Remember that you are both adults that have to make decisions of your own and do NOT allow families to get involved in your relationship, if you want to succeed and make it work..Good luck to both. It's your business, not theirs.

You know, You'd think in 2006 people could get over race! It is America! Everyone is here. Black, White, whatever, people are people. Why would parents want to make things harder for her. If you really like her and you feel there will or could be a future in the relationship then go for it. If you call it off just for that reason, you're letting them win, and that's how they'll look at it. Maybe they'll see how happy their daughter is and come around. Good Luck!

No matter how you see it it is not going to work out. Prejudice issues are in the heart of people. It will not go away it is there. Get out now. It they are prejudice that is a big issue by itself and you do not need to be subjected to that.

It doesn't matter what her family thinks your not dating them. If you love this woman give it some time like she said. Better yet don't let what small minded people think about you. You can't make them happy.
