How do you feel about this guy? Do you see yourself marrying him and being with him forever, or is it still too soon to tell? I think it's good that he backed off a little. Sometimes guys will get a little overzealous about all the love and marriage stuff early on, because they want to mark their territory and shield you from their competition- other guys- by sort of "claiming" you. Also, guys get just as nuts as girls do when they first fall for someone- they just express it in different ways. Maybe he is now starting to feel comfortable enough with you to just sit back and enjoy the normal pace of a relationship now that the beginning frenzy has sort of worn off.

OH! Just like the other answer I just read....CELEBRATE! Funny- you didn't mention how YOU felt about all this. Am I understanding that this person in your life "runs the show"? If he were to have NOT backed off, would you have just gone along with whatever HE said was happening. You have a voice and one of your favorite words or phrases needs to start being "no" and "let me consult myself, and i'll get back to you on that"

My boyfriend did this in the beginning too and it was a little overwhelming. He's does it because thats what he wants with you...eventually. It's better he slowed down. He prob. didnt want to scare you. Ive been with my man for 2.5 years and we always talk about it, but now realize we need to be ready. good luck

Maybe he knows he is going to fast and wants to respect you! You shouldn't worry so much if you know he likes you!!
