Yes. No other religion outside of Catholicism has a Pope. The Pope is basically like the 'leader' of Catholicism if you will. He is the highest of high ups in the Catholic Faith. Above all Priests, Clergymen, Deacons, etc.

Yes, being Catholic is one of the requirements of a Pope.

Any baptized male Catholic can be elected Pope. Although the chances of a non-cardinal being elected is very small.

If the person elected is not yet a bishop, then he is ordained a bishop before accepting the office of the Papacy.

With love in Christ.

Orthodox Catholics call theirs Patriarch.
Other Christian Denominations has another or different terms which I am not aware of at the moment. I know their equivalent to Catholics Priests as Pastors or Ministers or Elders.

I haven't read enough about Catholicism to be very concrete here, but he is more that just an ordinary Catholic. He is closer to God, and has revelations from God.

Help me out Catholics.

In the case that they don't, go to the Catholic official website and read their articles of faith (catholic.com is interesting).

They claim to be anyway... there is actualy no "law" in Roman catholic dogma that says the pope must come from the ranks of the roman cult... by their own statements it is God who picks the pope, by leading the votes of the cardnel...so God could lead any one to be appointed pope... in fact I do not believe that God gives a whit for who is pope. As the RCs are not of the True Christian Faith anyway..
