We probably have more than 62 bones in just our fingers and toes. Because that's the way God made us and we need them all.

It's just the way we evolved...we'd be a lot less flexible with less than 1/3 our current bones...think of all the joints that would be gone? One long bone for arm, one for leg, one for backbone, etc...we'd be as movable as an old style barbie doll...
