when you bathe your dog, make sure to get the face wet and soak the crusties, gently pull the glob of it off, then wash the face really well with shampoo and if you are comfortable enough you can use a whitening shampoo on the spots to remove the brown stains left. If the crusts are that bothersome to you then take your dog in to the groomers and have them cut the hair out from around the eyes. I used to groom dogs and i don't suggest you do that at home cause if he moves you can puncture his eye with the scissors.

Those stain -looking things aren't stains. Most small white dogs have them. They are part of his fur, designed to protect his eyes from the sun because the dog has no other protection. So, most likely, they are part of your dogs natural body. If they are only there sometimes, or seem to increase in size, you should go see a local vet.
Hope I was a help,

There are cleaning pads you can buy for dogs at a pet store. They come in a round container with a screw on top. They won't burn its eyes, and they work good. For the watering you would have to go get a certian kind of drop from your vet.

Terramycin. It is a greasy antibiotic eye cream suitable for humands and dogs. I have the same problem with a retriever. It seems to affect some long hair breeds more than short hair breeds.

Try gently washing your dogs eyes with warm water and then put a thin layer of Vaseline around its eyes.

i have a cocker spaniel who face is buff and white and i have the same problem. i have learned to clean her face and eyes with
chamoille tea.
make the tea like normally. and just drop some ice cubes in it to get it cool off. then get a cotton swab or round and dip it in the tea and then place on the edge of their eye.
it works great and does not irrate their eyes.

Run warm (NOT HOT! test it against your own eyelid) water on a soft wash cloth and use that. If it continues and looks like it's hurting your pet call your local vet for preventitave measures.

My canines had fairly some discharge from his eyes we replaced his food and its long gone now. yet we did take him to the vet via fact something to do with the eyes must be brought about from some style of an infection (liver, kidney, pancreas, diabetes). With my canines it replaced into in basic terms his food the vet provides you with a prescription for his eyes, or inform you to get polysporin for the eyes. interior the propose time wipe it with a heat fabric my canines loves it.

It's the type of dog it is. It happens to all of them. You could just wipe them with water all the time, they wouldn't be dirty atleast, but they'd still stay wet. You might wanna take him/her to the vet, cause he could have an allergy.
