It depends on what level your love & romantic relationship is. Generally, love or romantic relationships serves as an inspiration thereby motivating artists to their best. On the other hand, it can also hinder in a way specially so if you always want to be with your special someone. It really depends on how deep & how involved you are in the relationship. I still believe that if love hinders your growth, then it's not love at all. Romantic, though as it may seem, it's not really love. Perhaps it's lust? Just a thought! :)

It enhances you as an artist. My ex was an artist and he always said that our love was the source of some of his best work. I'd agree b/c I knew him before we were together and his art, while amazing, lacked that "it" before we got together. I would say he enhanced my work as well. I'm an English major and I have to compose a lot of creative poems, papers, and etc & our love made my creative expression so much better.

Well, I'm not an artist, but I have had some really creative moments here and there (sometimes I write poetry)...and I found that whenever I was wounded by love or feeling heartbroken over a lost love, that's when I wrote my best, deepest, profound poetry. But whenever I was happily in a relationship I couldnt write a good peom if you PAID me....

well, lets see. I say that romance actually enhances because it causes you to look through rose colored glasses, allowing you to experience life at a higher level and opening up extras avenues through which you can express art.
