does it mean something sketchy is going on if my boyfriend just wants a night alone to "chill" if we're usually together every night?

No. Guys like to have some space. Women can be very demanding and sometimes a guy just needs some time for himself. It's actually beneficial to you to let him do this because then he has more emotional energy to give to you when he does see you. Let him have his space, that means just leave him alone when he needs it. If it's every day then somethings wrong but if its once a week or even twice it's normal.

Not necessarily. It could just mean he needs some breathing room. Jeez - couldn't you use a night to do girl things or see some girlfriends? Don't make a fuss - yet. Wait and see if he wants more and more time to "chill" on his own. If those times become more frequent, it's time for "the talk" as in "are you seeing someone else? wanting to move on? tired of this relationship?". Of course, if by chance he tells you not to ask any questions but if someone asks to tell them he was really with you that night - Run and don't stop until he is a distant memory.

NO NO NO. The newness of a relationship for a man doesn't last near as long as it does for a woman. You would propably be quite content to spend every waking moment with him, but he is very different, almost all men are. He wants time to think, to play, to enjoy the things in life. Men are naturally loner creatures, they want to do it themselves, and be independent. It all for the better of your relationship to allow him his time alone. And him being at work doesn't count because he has to be there against his will in the first place. Give him his time and space and you will both be much much happier, I promise.
