Break down of traditional family values. I know it's a cliche that we hear all the time but I think it is at the root of the problem.

I believe the biggest road block facing our young people today is the break down in the family. The majority of kids come from either broken homes or homes where both parents work and as a result are left to take care of themselves too much. A lot of our youth have never been taken to church and taught the plan of salvation. God says the man is to be the spiritual leader in the home and so often, there isn't a man present. This didn't happen overnight but if our nation would turn it's eyes back to God and focus on how God's word tells us to live, then our young people would have a chance.

Interesting question... I am going to say that it is selfishness people do not care about others as a whole the person that said capitalism is the fault for poverty is wrong. Ask people in the east bloc if they want to move and you will get a resounding yes. The reason we have poverty, because people don't care about other people they want to have tax cuts and abandon the poor so they can get a bigger tv. Instead of cutting taxes we need to cut stupid government programs and use our funds for helping the impoverished and to save the planet we are living on whether or not you believe in global warming you could at least admit that we don't treat the other well enough for it to last very long. If all humans looked out for each other we wouldn't have some the problems that we have. Communism fails as a whole because their is little insentive to work hard and come up with great ideas if you get the same as the lazy guy that works at Mc Donalds every once and a while. (they get my order wrong all the time those jerks!).

Peer pressure. Believe me, the root of all falling out of religion can be traced back to peer pressure. I've seen it enough times were someone with no faith or lack of faith or just thinks that wicca is cool will pressur their friends into joining them. I saw it all the time in HIgh school. If you were christian (ironically, the majority of us were) then you were mocked for being religious, but if you weren't christian, you were left alone.

Lack of morality that their parents aren't really instilling in them..Unfortunately the home has been completely torn apart especially after the Feminist movement. I'm a woman and proud to be one! But you know what women aren't proud to be mothers! They take it as a chore to the home to become a mother and raise chicldren.. it's not a blessing to them anymore. They leave their children at home with a sitter.. who knows what they are bringing into the home and teaching their kids. It has become a poverty.. Morality isn't a worth anymore! That is the biggest road block.

It's the competition in everything. The race to the top, education, maintaing high living standards and all is keeping the youth quite pre-occupied. There's hardly any time to spend on religious activities.

I'm with Andy, the break down of the family can often be found behind many of the issues you listed.

Parents not taking the time to show their children the way. I dont' mean bible camps and stuff. But parents living their beliefs and teaching their children to Pray for them selves for the truth.
